O death, where is thy sting?

sjöhäxan Feth excellently captures the symphony of decay that is ever present in the soil beneath our feet, a constant battle of life and death, mandibles grasping limbs, soft flesh crushed by shining jaws, and the cycle repeats. A brooding and excellent release. Favorite track: the moth shall eate them vp.

Johan Feth uses the tag 'uncomfy synth', and I'm once again overwhelmed by the new release. The artists knows exactly how to conjure an ominous - in a way, this time also sad and hopeless - ambience through well composed, minimal synth soundscapes. It's indeed uncomfy in a way that you seem to be able to feel something crawling near yourself, under your bed, behind your head. And that's a great thing to achieve, because with this release, the own fantasy is so much stimulated. Hidden gem in 2022! Favorite track: the canker worme, and the caterpiller, and the palmer worme.

about

"War, famine and pestilence.
Seek out these three blessings, and you shall not want."
Beelzeboúl Tractate 1296 AD

"And now they live again in the grasshoppers; and this is the return which the Muses make to them-they neither hunger, nor thirst, but from the hour of their birth are always singing, and never eating or drinking; and when they die they go and inform the Muses in heaven who honour them on earth."
Phaedrus by Plato
